A rare find! A clean and somewhat restored bench drill. It looks very similar to the No. 1003 bench drill marketed by North Bros between 1916 and 1929. The differences are: the table lacks the wheel based adjuster (there's no threaded hole in the casting for the screw, so it's not a case that being missing) and the automatic feed system is spring loaded rather than the complex geared system you normally see on these. I don't know if that's original or not. Again there isn't parts of the casting where the complex feeder would mount, so this one never had that feature. Perhaps this was either a lower budget model or an early version).
Has a 3/8"Goodell-Pratt replacement chuck on it. Takes regular twist bits up to 3/8". Clamps on a bench and stands 15" above the benchtop. Weighs 15 lbs boxed to ship.
