Vintage Stanley No. 02-010 10 Ratcheting Bit Brace - Bell System - INVJ56

Description

You are looking at a vintage 10" ratcheting bit brace with a ball bearing chuck made in the USA by Stanley Tool, for the Bell Telephone  Company.  This brace is marked on the Nickel plated 7/16" steel frame, with the company branding.  The "Bell System" mark and the number have been partially ground off, but you can still see the "Bell" part. (See Photo)This piece features a  1/2" ball bearing chuck with spring type alligator jaws, that ratchets either left or right with the turn of the knurled collar above the chuck. It also has a lock position for setting bits and non-ratchet work. The head and the wrist handle on this piece are Composite, and have no splits or cracks, but do show  usage. The head rides a steel clad ball bearing for ease of usage, and the wrist handle has two non-adjustable steel rings to prevent splitting. The drill has been cleaned and tuned for proper operation and is ready for the collector or the user.
